We have had car share trips to see Paddington 2, Fishermen’s Friends & Bohemian Rhapsody to name but a few. We had a lovely day on the train to Devils Bridge followed by an excellent meal at Llanrhystud Golf Club.
We had a great coffee morning with Blood Bikes Wales which raised £230 towards the important service that they provide.
The Monday Stitch and Chat group have been busy making Trauma Teddies & Fish and Chip jumpers amongst other things for various charities. They raised £200 for LATCH with the sale of their Easter chicks. They have also just raised £384.25 for Ty Hafan from the sale of their Christmas goodies! Well done ladies.
The homemade preserves made by Ian have been flying out and raising funds for the Chemo unit, Bronglais. Circa £500 so far.
The collection box selling wrist bands etc. for Help 4 Heroes raised £133.03 for the first part of the year and is now again full and will be emptied soon.
The Poppy Appeal collection box raised £56.64 in November.
The guys from the Men’s Breakfast group joined the nationwide charity event ‘The March For Men’ for prostate cancer by walking a circular walk from the pub before their monthly breakfast. They raised £428 and amazing amount chaps, great stuff.
The annual dog show was well attended as usual. We had a few charity stalls, burgers and the weather was kind which made for a successful day for all.
As you know we had an amazing response to our 24 hour danceathon in October and I would like to again say thank you to everyone who made the event such a success. The total raised was a staggering £965. We have so far made a donation of £310 to Blood Bikes Wales and the rest will be shared equally to Wales Air Ambulance and the Children’s ward, Bronglais.
Also to be shared between Wales Air Ambulance and the Children’s ward is £337.00 from the raffle sales, £106 from Quizzers winnings donations, £95 from the charity squares and a hefty £697.50 from Keepfit fees and book sales. A total of £1235.50 of which a small amount from the raffle will be kept aside for a trip for our pensioners lunch club.
So as you can see your continued support and generosity has once again been immense. As Ian would say ‘not bad for a little pub on the side of the road!’ I would like to thank you all on behalf of all the charities mentioned. Their thank you letters are either on the display board or in the charity folder on the window sill for you to see.
