Everything well here and we are now facing the Summer months. So now is a good time to tell you what has been going on and what we have planned for the next few months.
We had a coffee morning to raise awareness and donations for Blood Bikes Wales. These volunteers run an invaluable service within Ceredigion and beyond and gave us a very informative insight into their volunteering role working alongside the NHS. With your support we raised £230.00 which was gratefully received. Check out their Facebook page to see photos!
We have had car share trips to Theatr Mwldan to see Bohemian Rhapsody and Fishermens Friend. We also went to visit The Internal Fire Museum for their Easter 'crank up'.
A couple of weeks ago we had a great evening at Ffos Las races. Some even covered their costs and made a small profit, though I must admit I wasn't one of them!!
Our quiz nights are still being well attended with Ginny, Roy, Colin and Sue winning the last one. They will be the quiz-masters for the last quiz before the summer break.
The men's breakfast/coffee morning is still going strong and I must admit that it is great to see the guys having a good old chinwag. Ladies don't listen to your men when they say that you don't stop talking!!! Seriously though this is something that needs to happen more within our community and we still have more room for any guys reading this to join us for breakfast and a chat. The September meeting (14th) will also incorporate a small circular sponsored walk, starting from here, in aid of the Prostrate Cancer 'March for Men' campaign.
Last Saturday was our Mexican Night in the restaurant. Again, this was well supported and we filled all our spaces. We appreciate all your great feedback and are looking into the Greek suggestion for our next one. (Watch this space). The tequila tasting went down well as did the tequila slammers and the winners of the 'pin the tail' on the Mexican donkey were Suzannah and Linda 'T'.

I can now confirm the date is fixed for our 24 hour Danceathon. It will start on Tuesday the 15th of October at 11:30am and finish on Wednesday the 16th of October at 11:30am. It will start within our Stroke group meeting and also incorporate our keep-fit class. During the 24 hours we will have various styles of dancing available for you to enjoy watching and trying. If you take part in a dance group of any kind and would like to take part please get in touch as the more varieties the better. I will have a timetable available nearer the time so you can see what is going on when. Already we have rock and roll, country, belly, jive and hopefully ballroom. Refreshments will be available throughout the 24 hours.
I will let you know about our next trip to Ffos Las, Theatr Mwldan and our yearly coach trip when I have more information.
Again, we enjoy being part of your community and believe that a pub should be a place for people to get together to enjoy socialising, trying out new experiences and making new friends, so please get in touch if you want us to help you organise an activity or charity event. We are open to most suggestions, but haven't got a licence for pole dancing, sorry!! So call 01239654285 or just drop in for a chat.
Thanks for taking the time to read our newsletter and I will be in touch again in the near future.
